Meet Our Attorneys

Allan Maitlin, Partner

 

Allan Maitlin has degrees from Rutgers University and New York University School of Law. He served a judicial clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of Claims, and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association and serves on its Insurance and Professional Liability Committees as well as Property Law and Environmental Law Committees. As a member of the Insurance Committee, he was a contributor to the initial annotation to the standard fire insurance contract, a publication of that Committee. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. He has been a member of the Committee on Insurance Fraud Investigation of the American Insurance Services Group. He has lectured for that group at national conventions on insurance policy interpretation and insurance fraud. He also has lectured extensively to many other insurance groups on all phases of the law. He is a member of the Loss Executives Association.

The Supreme Court has appointed him a mediator for the New Jersey court system. He received his mediation training under the Supreme Court organization. He has successfully conducted more than 60 mediations in almost every phase of the law. He has over 50 published opinions in the New Jersey and Federal reports.

Mr. Maitlin was elected as an alumni trustee to Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey and at the conclusion of his term, was appointed a public trustee of the University by the Governor of the State of New Jersey. He is also a founder and is presently an emeritus member of the Rutgers University Foundation Board of Overseers. He also serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Overseers of the Zimmerli Art Museum of Rutgers University.

He is a retired chair of the Livingston Zoning Board of Adjustment, having served on the board for 18 years.

Raymond J. Fleming, Partner

 

Raymond J. Fleming is a graduate of Rutgers Law School. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has served on the Essex County Ethics Committee. Mr. Fleming has represented hospitals and medical professionals for more than 30 years, and has presented numerous educational programs for hospital staffs on medical-legal issues, including mock trials. He has also lectured on medical malpractice at the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is regularly involved in the trial of serious and complex matters on behalf of defendants in medical malpractice cases. He has tried more than 100 jury trials to a conclusion and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Mr. Fleming has argued several cases before the State Supreme Court and numerous cases in the Appellate Division. He was twice elected by his peers as a New Jersey "Super Lawyer", and recently co-authored two chapters in the book, Nursing Malpractice, by Patricia Iyer, R.N.

Peter A. Greene, Partner

 

Peter A. Greene has a B.A. and an M.S. degree from Columbia University as well as a J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School. He is a certified civil trial lawyer, and is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association and the New Jersey Bar Association. He was a Deputy Attorney General of the State of New Jersey for five years, representing the State Board of Medical Examiners and other professional boards. He was also a staff attorney for Ralph Nader's Health Research Group in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C. bars. He has authored a chapter in a text on nursing malpractice defense. He has tried over 150 jury cases to a conclusion including 80 medical malpractice actions. He has also tried fire cases, ambulance and auto cases, as well as insurance coverages cases.

David E. Maitlin, Associate

 

David E. Maitlin is a graduate of Rutgers College and Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts and the New York courts. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and for the Southern District of New York. He is a member of the New Jersey and New York State Bars, and a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He served a judicial clerkship with New Jersey Appellate Division Judge Irwin I. Kimmelman. He is presently Vice Chair of the Essex County Ethics Committee. He concentrates his practice in real estate transactions as well as insurance, commercial and real estate related litigation.

Christopher L. Klabonski, Associate

 

Christopher L. Klabonski is a graduate of Rutgers College and Rutgers Law School. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey Courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Pennsylvania Courts. He served a clerkship with New Jersey Law Division Judge John F. Richardson as well as Assignment Judge Robert Guterl. He is a member of the Essex County Bar Association.

Timothy Fleming is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Seton Hall School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New Jersey as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Frank R. Cinquina, Associate

 

Frank Cinquina received an A.B. degree from Brown University and J.D. from The Fordham School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He served a judicial clerkship with The Honorable H. Curtis Meanor. He was the editor of the New Jersey Digest Section of Best's Recommended Insurance Attorneys from 1971 to 1990. He has tried numerous cases in various fields, including products liability. He has specialized in complex civil litigation, including insurance coverage, building construction defects, construction accidents, products liability, fire cases, appeals and subrogation.

Meghan E. Walsh, Associate

 

Meghan E. Walsh has a B.A. from University of Miami magna cum laude, an M.S.W. from Florida State University summa cum laude, and a law degree from Seton Hall University magna cum laude. She performed a judicial clerkship for The Honorable Bruce A. Gaeta, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey. She is admitted to practice law before the New Jersey Courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Pennsylvania Courts. Since completing her clerkship in 1989, Ms. Walsh has concentrated her practice on defense of medical malpractice matters both on behalf of physicians and hospitals and their employees.

Glenn A. Farrell, Counsel

 

Glenn A. Farrell has degrees from Syracuse University and Seton Hall University School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He served as Vice-President of the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners, which is the professional board responsible for licensing and disciplining physicians and other health professionals. He also served as a member of the Attorney General's Task Force on New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Operations. He also has extensive experience in products liability, complex instrumentalities and complex litigation matters. He is a member of the Bergen County and Essex County Bar Associations as well as the New Jersey and New York State Bar Associations.

Marvin A. Sachs, Of Counsel

 

Marvin A. Sachs has degrees from Rutgers University and Harvard Law School, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. Under the sponsorship of Rutgers University, he has conducted seminars on trial practice and has lectured on the law of insurance to numerous groups. Marvin Sachs has engaged in insurance company defense work with heavy emphasis on property defense work for over 40 years and served on the Property Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association.
